3 hour Workshop – 10am to 1pm, Saturday, 18 April

$95 all inclusive

This workshop is suitable for all levels – no previous experience with clay necessary.

Participants will learn how to roll out slabs and coils to create vessels using press and/or draping techniques.

Each participant will be given enough clay to create 2 pieces, once the pieces have dried they will be bisque fired then glazed and re-fired ready for use.

Traditional techniques used include coil, slab and pinch techniques.

This will be a most enjoyable workshop and will set you up for you to produce your own creations at home.

Victoria holds a degree in Visual Arts Honours Ceramics Southern Cross University Lismore NSW Australia as well as an Advanced Diploma Visual Arts Ceramics North Coast Institute of Tafe Lismore NSW Australia. Victoria has a long-standing history in education and community involvement in the arts, having taught ceramics to people with disabilities, primary children and adults in South Africa, QLD and NSW. She is a member of the Australian Ceramics Association, participating in the Open Studios event held annually across Australia. Victoria’s work is held in collections in NSW and Cape Town and her works have been featured in the Artists Portfolio Magazine.

Twilight Wheel Throwing for Beginners

Running over 4 Consecutive Wednesdays: 5:30 to 7:30pm

We have to take a small break for the month of March as Brooke is heading off on an adventure and Madeleine is having carpal tunnel surgery. We are however taking bookings for the following courses:

B2: 1/4 to 22/4 – THIS COURSE IS NOW FULLY BOOKED

B3: 29/4 to 20/5 – THIS COURSE IS NOW FULLY BOOKED

B4: 27/5 to 17/6

$220 (including clay and bisque firing of your favourite 6 pieces) – $50 non-refundable deposit required at time of booking

*Please note this course includes BISQUE firing only.

There will be optional glazing/decorating sessions planned throughout the year run as a separate workshop @ $60 per head including glaze firing, tuition about glazing and a large selection of glazes and underglazes for your favourite 6 pieces (specialty products ie. tissue transfers will incur an extra charge).

If you have more than 6 pieces these will be decorated and fired at your own cost or at $10 per piece during glaze session.

If you have always wanted to give throwing a try then this is the course for you. During this course you will learn how to prepare clay for throwing, centre the clay and create a cylinder and bowl. Brooke has over 20 years experience as a potter and we are excited she is willing to share her secrets with you.

Introduction to Clay Techniques

1 DAY WORKSHOP – 10am to 3pm – Sunday, 29 March

$140 (inclusive of clay, glazing and firing, coffee/tea and yummy snacks throughout the day).

$50 non-refundable deposit required at time of booking.

This workshop is for those who have never touched clay through to anybody wanting to update their hand building skills. Throughout this enjoyable and informative day you will discover basic hand building techniques and learn how to make a coil pot and a pinch pot. Penny will explain the different tools used and how to use them as well as a bit about the use of different clays, also the possibility of trying your hand at decorating your creations using sgraffito. This workshop will equip you to forge ahead and find your own creative niche.

Penny has a BFA from Sydney College of the Arts with a Ceramics Major. Penny has had numerous exhibitions, both group and solo and has extensive experience as a TAFE teacher.
