26 Feb Throwing for Beginners
Running over 4 consecutive Saturdays, 9am to 1pm
$240 (including clay and bisque firing) – $50 non-refundable deposit required at time of booking
If you have always wanted to give throwing a try then this is the course for you! During this course you will learn the fundamental techniques of throwing. Clay preparation, centring and opening out, in order to produce consistent cylinders and bowls, turning and finishing. Handle making and pouring lips will also be covered.
Your teacher will be Mark Warren who was formally trained at East Sydney Art School in 1978 and has taught ceramics (all subjects) at most major TAFE colleges. He has established several pottery studios, and worked as a technical adviser and mould maker for other professionals.
*Please note this course includes BISQUE firing only. There will be glazing/decorating days planned throughout the year run as a separate workshop @ $50 per head including glaze firing and some standard glazes (specialty products ie. tissue transfers will incur an extra charge).
